Mears New Homes is a relatively new, but dedicated new build housing division of Mears Group PLC, in itself, an industry leader in delivering quality housing and care solutions across the UK.

Historically, Mears Group has grown through acquisition and an obvious option would have been to purchase a small house builder, with an existing track record, customer base and pipeline of opportunity. This however, was not the preferred route for the Groups new housing division and instead, it was decided to grow a completely new business, which could focus on delivering best practice from the outset.
Since its inception in 2014, the New Homes division has been developed from these same principle foundations of:

Within three years, Mears New Homes has grown from a standing start, to a turnover of over £35m and a strong portfolio of both contracting and development projects across south east England and is progressively expanding to the north and south west with new clients and development partners, into new locations, with larger, more complex opportunities being completed year on year.
As a business, Mears New Homes deliver quality housing solutions across multiple tenures. We operate as a Design and Build Contractor delivering Affordable Housing for Local Authorities and Registered Providers (sometimes these schemes also comprise market sale homes, included by the client in the project for cross subsidy purposes). Additionally, we operate as a developer, whereby our own land-led schemes are driven by our team, comprising our own market sale homes, and a proportion of affordable homes, which are delivered in partnership with an approved Register Provider Partner. We therefore have an eclectic customer base and can commonly be managing various different customer contacts with differing tenure interests, often within the same scheme.
All of our homes, regardless of tenure, are completed to the highest-possible standards and handed over with zero defects, with a strong emphasis on a successful customer experience, throughout the process and beyond into the aftercare period. We embrace affordable housing within our schemes and commonly enhance the external appearance of these tenures to deliver a truly tenure blind design solution. Whilst this may not be common among our competitors, we believe that this approach delivers enhanced value to our housing partners, and in turn, that it can lead to greater social inclusion and future community cohesion within our schemes.
