For nearly three decades, Hawkins\Brown have been making buildings from the inside out. We believe that an approach, not a house style, produces better places. Ours is open and design-led. It’s also rigorous and thoroughly researched. You’ll discover creativity, commitment and a desire to collaborate to reach the best solution. Looking elsewhere also helps. We understand that the way people work, live, learn, travel and gather is changing, and the boundaries are blurring. This allows us to apply this knowledge and experience to a diverse range of sectors including housing.
Working in the residential sector, Hawkins\Brown have learned that good design has a key role to play beyond the all-important numbers and ever-changing legislation. To produce successful, modern homes that people want to live in, we consider every aspect of a development, from its location right down to the fixtures and fittings; from the district to the doorknob.
We understand the needs of different markets and how these create daily challenges for the development and delivery teams. We know how to work with contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors and consultants working together as a team with a shared ambition. Putting consultation, engagement and dialogue at the heart of a project, making successful homes that contribute to neighbourhoods and are invested with local meaning.
From huge regeneration projects to tricky urban infill, from private apartments to affordable housing, Hawkins\Brown think wider, beyond the move-in date. We are interested in the spaces between the buildings, the corridors, lift lobbies and what’s outside the front door. By thinking creatively about these important areas, Hawkins\Brown make places that people love to call home.
Hawkins\Brown have over 150 awards and accolades and are the AJ100 Practice of the Year 2016.
