UK Construction Week 2018: Stopping Building Failures25 September 2018
The Housing Forum is delighted to be presenting the findings of our influential report ‘Stopping Building Failures’ at UK Construction Week 2018 (UKCW).
The co-chairs of the working group responsible for the report, Andy Tookey, Managing Director at Baily Garner and Nigel Ostime, Project Delivery Director at Hawkins Brown, will be joined by Austen Reid, Group Director of Development at Clarion and Katie Saunders, Partner at Trowers & Hamlins to discuss how the inconsistency in delivering quality, race to the bottom procurement and the compromise of building safety are at the heart of many building failures.
Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the report draws on expertise from across the sector and provides a practical response to the "deep flaws in the current system" identified by Dame Judith Hackitt.
The session will be chaired by George Clark the English architect, television presenter, lecturer and writer, best known for his work on the Channel 4 programmes The Home Show, The Restoration Man and George Clarke's Amazing Spaces.
