The Housing Forum at Housing 2019

The Housing Forum joined organisations from across the housing supply chain last week at Housing 2019, Europe's largest and most inclusive housing festival and the Chartered Institute of Housing's annual conference.

Whilst at the conference – in addition to exhibiting - we examined and debated some of biggest challenges facing the industry, featuring sessions at the conference on:

Hackitt Review response consultation - what does it mean for the industry?

Government is consulting on the legislation required to implement the recommendations of Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety. This session featured three industry experts who provided their views on what the likely outcomes will mean for housing and construction.

  • Andrew Mellor, Partner - PRP
  • Rebecca Rees, Partner - Trowers & Hamlins
  • Stuart Laird, COO - United Living

This session considered some of the ways councils can develop or engage the skills and competences needed to deliver quality new homes at pace.
