We are delighted to announce that our new guide 'MMC for affordable housing developers' will be launched at a special Breakfast Briefing on Friday 27 September.

Modern methods of construction (MMC), the catch-all phrase for non-traditional means of building, including major housing elements produced off-site in factories, is not a new concept. Some of the key drivers for the adoption of MMC have converged in recent years though and they now make MMC a feasible, attractive and efficient option for the residential sector.

And if ever there was a time and a need to embrace more productive construction methods, that time is now.

The event will include a presentation and discussion led by Jeff Endean, Director, Cast Consultancy and members of the Working Group that contributed to the development of the guide.

The Housing Forum's MMC Working Group brought together experts from all areas of the supply chain - architects, manufacturers, contractors, consultants, housing associations, trade bodies and government - to examine the challenges affordable developers face when adopting new methods.

The result of their work is this practical guide to overcoming the barriers to adopting an off-site approach to delivery.

Breakfast briefings from The Housing Forum are well-received events and attract senior housing industry influencers.
