Double success for A2Dominion at Housebuilder Awards

Housing Forum member A2Dominion scooped two accolades in the 2015 Housebuilder Awards recently, winning both the ‘Best Low or Zero Carbon Initiative’ category and the prestigious ‘Best Medium Housebuilder’ title.

Fabrica by A2Dominion won ‘Best Low or Zero Carbon Initiative’ for its innovative Elmsbrook development, the first phase of the NW Bicester eco-town in Oxfordshire.

The nationally-important, true zero carbon housing scheme at Elmsbrook was launched under the FABRICA by A2Dominion brand.

Hosted by A2Dominion, The Housing Forum held a highly successful Cross-Sector Market Workshop at Elmsbrook in October, which included a site visit of a range of starter and family homes and their energy and water saving features.

The workshop studied the evolution of the NW Bicester Masterplan as part of the wider Bicester garden town initiative, including the homes designed for modern living built to lifetime homes standard at Elmsbrook. Energy production and efficiency is a key feature of the development, with a combined heat and power plant supplying heat and hot water to all homes, triple glazing, and solar panels on every roof.  Elmsbrook will be a net-provider of energy to the national-grid, generating more electricity than it uses

Two other members of The Housing Forum were also successful at the awards. Keepmoat won ‘Best Regeneration Initiative’ and Barratt won the ‘Sustainable Housebuilder’ category.

The Housebuilder Awards, supported by NHBC and HBF, recognise and reward excellence in the housebuilding sector.
